living your life, or living your dream? (2.0)

"I often forget of who I am", said my brother, Reymond.

When I look around me, everything seems normal for me, everything feels just right for who I am. I grew up in such simple family, went to school, met my friends, did normal things... but, as time went by, I realized that I was born "gifted".

Unlike other people who are "gifted" as much as I do, or even more, we are like living in a whole different world. My childhood was like a piece of paper and crayons, and those people are like softwares and computer. But you know, I am really glad that I lived my life with paper and crayons. Even though my crayons weren't as fancy as computers, still, they put beautiful colors on my paper. Same thing happened for my brothers and my sister.

As time went by, I realized that for all those years I was using crayons, they weren't just crayons. They were fancy crayons, I just never knew. Now, I know that I could have using computer just like the others, I feel awkward because I never been around a computer. Sure it takes time to get used to it, learning from how use the tools, configuring the systems, start installing softwares, and cannot stop staring the screen.

Good thing about that is, now I know how to use the computer, but I also know how to draw with crayons.

The problem is, since I have been drawing with my crayons the whole time, I forgot that I can use computer now. So, when it is already the time to bring out the computer, I still carrying my crayons with me. I need to be more carefully observe the situation, and be flexible with my tools. One who is "gifted" should look as one, should talk as one, do thing as one, and become as one.

newly born warrior.

In April 2009, just the next day after I arrived in Jakarta, I went to Gold's Gym and got 14 days free trial there... (thanks to NC who happens to be a member there and helped me with the process :) This happened before I officially became a member at Celebrity Fitness. At that time, I was not too sure if I wanna take a membership at GG or CF. Good thing I got free trials, and it helped me a lot to make the decision later on. (well, as you all know which one I finally picked :)

So, quick review... GG is the newer one, compared to CF. Better interior, brand new equipments, and has a swimming pool. But, even though the equipments are brand new, they are lack on numbers... so, members have to wait for turns before they start doing exercise. And the worse thing is, they always have a big group of people using one machine or equipment. What even worse is, with that big group of people (3-5 people) they only sit there near the machine and talk to each other... Really really annoying and time wasting.

The worst thing is... THE GROUP EXERCISE STUDIO!!! Arrrghhhhhhhhhh... There is no single thing I like about the studio... The place is too small, the sound systems are terrible (too freakin loud), and the ceiling is damn short!!! The classes that I attended were pretty full at the time, but with such small space and short ceiling, I found myself very hard to breathe... It felt like we were racing to breathe... I really did not enjoy doing group classes there. What amazing experience was only this one BODYCOMBAT class I attended, the instructor used total 12 tracks... 3 HARDCORE MUAY-THAI TRACKS IN A ROW!!!! That is it! GG's group exercise is out of my suggestion, for those people who enjoy group exercise as much as I do. CF is wayyyyy much better...

Still with GG, but different story... Some of my friends are members at GG, so when I did my exercise there, it was easy to find familiar faces. There was this day I did BODYCOMBAT with one of my friend, she was a first timer that day... She found really hard to follow the choreo and techniques, but I'm glad that she enjoyed that 1 hour combat experience. After my free trials were over, I still hung-out with her, and I found out that she is now a BODYCOMBAT ADDICT!!! Yayyy...

So, a month later, I gave her ARNOLD COWEN's COMBAT WARRIOR for her birthday present. She was so happy when she opened my present, and since she was a newly born warrior, I hope that she will become a true warrior, and share her experiences with other people, so EVERYBODY WILL BECOME WARRIORS!!! BODYCOMBAT ADDICTS!!!

body-fever, bloody-combat...

Thursday, 18th June '09 was the schedule for BODYCOMBAT 40 launch @ La Piazza. I've seen all the pictures from previous BODYCOMBAT LAUNCH events, and I always wanted to do the launch for sooo longgg...

Sadly, just one night before the event, I got sick... I had a terrible headache, my back and my legs were so sore, my neck stiff, the fever was high, and it all ruined the moment that I've been waiting for. DAMNN!!!

After few days later, the headache still there, the fever was gone, my body still stiff and sore. So, I went to the doctor and did some blood-test. The result was positive blood-fever and I had to stay at the hospital.

RONTGEN TIME...still full of spirit!!!

I don't look like a sick person, do I?

Me, lying in bed with my loyal BlackBerry...
always there to cheer me up...

EVERYBODY JUMPS!

"jump... jump... jump!"

I got new schedule for my exercise, now I'm also doing POWERJUMP. You can of course jump on the trampoline, you can run even sprint on it, you can do a little bit of aerobic on it, salsa, hip hop.. basically, "YOU CAN GO NUTS ALL THE WAY YOU WANT IT!!" wakakaaakaka...

It was both pretty scary and excited when I was a first-timer. Seriously, I could not imagine if I fell while I jump on that trampoline... and it was hard to control your movements on that thing. But after so many other classes than PJ that i attended, I found no difficulties memorizing the choreo. huehuehe...

50 minutes of PJ can burn your calories 500-700 depending on how hard you push yourself and keep your heart-rate high. Major muscle target: abs, butt, thigh.

Once you jump on that trampoline, you will not want to stop jumping.
"jump... jump... jump!"

CELEBRITY FITNESS, LA PIAZZA. combat special.

A little bit of information, since I couldn't get a job in Singapore, it left me no choice but to leave and go back to Jakarta. But, since exercise had become one of my lifestyle (probably the lifestyle that I am proud of) I need to find a gym replacement in Jakarta. My brother (http://reymondlesmana.blogspot.com/) is a member at Celebrity Fitness, La Piazza. Also, my high school friend is a member there too... Actually, some of my other friends are member of Gold's Gym, but I have to choose Celebrity Fitness because I've been there before and I enjoyed training there.

Anyway, around last month, we had a special combat class to celebrate some occasion. So, check it out...

BODYPUMP 70.

BODYPUMP 70 IS AMAZING AND SPECTACULAR!!!

All you need to do is stay focus with the techniques, beware of a quick transition, listen carefully to the coaching and music. I gotta say, with this new release, even you are using the same weights with that you usually carry, you will feel your muscles more painful than usual.

Track 2. DOWNNNN!!! YOU'RE GOING DOWNNNN!!!! wakakakaaka... Nothing much to comment for this one, just LOTS AND LOTS OF MINI!!! Feel the burn and you will scream in pain, esp. the last 2 "supeerr sloooowwww..."

Track 5. This is something unusual for the tricep track... you are not going to use the bar... Only one plate is enough and will do for this track. Just prepare yourself for the combinations, and of course THE TORTUREEEE!!!

Track 7. woaaaahhhh... WOAAHHH!!!! This track is REALLY AWESOMEEEE!!!! I will leave this track of awesomeness in a mystery. The only way to solve it, JUST GRAB YOUR GEARS, HEAD TO YOUR GYM, AND JUST DO BODYPUMP 70!!!

living your life, or living your dream?

I believe, every single individual has their own dreams to pursue. Some might be crazy ideas, or an ideal thoughts for living.

Plans. Planning the right things to do, or make things right are common things that each one of us did and do.

Actions. Things will never get done unless we take some actions. The process from the start, the in between problems and solutions, until you reach your goals. In my opinion, the harder you work for it, the better the results and the more satisfied you will become. The harder you work, the more pain you take, it just will make you even stronger that you ever were or you even thought you will become.

Learning. The world is changing like a snap. Time flies really fast than we imagine. Ideas to make the world much simpler to live is just another way to make it more difficult, because in this modern era, there are no things that simple anymore. Everything that surrounds us are full of mystery and surprises. It is our job to break the code, to solve the mystery and find a way out.

On the other hand, what we might bump into thing that is not what we have in mind, because we have plans stuck in our heads, and we set our footsteps on how we run it. It is a common and unavoidable thing.

Some might get disappointed that their chapter is going to be different with what they had directed. But, in this modern life, that is just life. The end is not just down the single road, now there are so many roads. All we need to do is quickly make a decision, and play along with life.

Life is not about the past anymore... And not about guessing what might happen in the future. It is about what we get and what we do now, more importantly... JUST ENJOY THE RIDE!!

Cheers*

McDonald's branch at Pasar Baru.

New invention of McDonald's. A McDonald's food vendor... not restaurant... vendor!

California Fitness, Singapore. JACKIE CHAN SPORT.

In September 2007, I officialy a member of California Fitness, Singapore, located at Orchard Rd (the largest shopping district in Singapore). That was a huge step that I didn't know it would
change my lifestyle completely...

The first month as a gym member, I felt like I was forcing myself to step out of the house and do exercise. Doing gym exercise has been a pressure for me, because frankly, I always feel very boring while I'm doing it.

After a month of struggling, my brother Reymond, came to Singapore on business trip. So, after he spent his afternoon busy with his thing, we met up and go sight seeing around Singapore. He asked me if I already sign-up for a gym membership, and he asked me to take him to my gym.

Then, I arranged his 2 weeks free-pass. The first thing he grabbed was the Group-X-Classes schedule, and excited that my gym also offers Les Mills' program, BODYBALANCE, BODYCOMBAT and BODYPUMP. Without much thinking, he told me that I should join him attend all those classes.

Ever since, I became a huge fan of Les Mills' group classes programs. I like the choreos, the musics, and especially... I love it when the instructors at the stage challenge us to work harder, and the attendee shouts back to the instructors.

"EVER SINCE, I'M HUNGRY FOR MOREEEE!!!"
